During a recent press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reportedly urged illegal immigrants to self-deport from the United States, warning that failure to do so would lead to “much harder consequences.”

This announcement coincided with the unveiling of the revamped Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Home app, designed to facilitate the self-deportation process.

The CBP Home app allows undocumented individuals to submit their intent to leave the U.S. and verify their departure.

Leavitt emphasized that this new tool strengthens the administration’s efforts to secure the border, providing a clear avenue for illegal aliens to exit voluntarily before facing more severe repercussions.

This initiative replaces the Biden administration’s CBP One app, which had been criticized for allowing over a million migrants to enter the U.S.

The Trump administration claims that the previous app was exploited, contributing to significant illegal immigration.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the CBP Home app offers a chance for individuals to leave now, potentially allowing them the opportunity to return legally in the future.

She made it clear that if they do not take this opportunity, the government will actively seek them out for deportation.

“The CBP Home App gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return.” Leavitt said.

This announcement comes as the Trump administration has intensified deportation efforts, conducting recent raids that resulted in the arrest of over 600 illegal aliens, many of whom had criminal records.

The administration’s focus remains on enforcing immigration laws and reducing illegal entry into the country.

Leavitt’s message highlights the administration’s commitment to a stringent immigration policy, urging those unlawfully present in the U.S. to take action now to avoid future complications.
