Geraldo Rivera, a television personality and erstwhile Trump supporter, reportedly condemned President-elect Trump’s nomination of former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) for attorney general, describing it as a “horrible, creepy choice.”
“When I heard that Matt Gaetz was picked to be attorney general, I threw up in my mouth,” Rivera said.
Rivera has expressed regret for not abandoning Trump sooner and has supported Vice President Harris in the 2024 election.
Rivera claimed that Gaetz’s selection was a “giant F you to the critics.”
He also emphasized Gaetz’s dearth of legal experience and overall lack of qualifications for the position.
On Wednesday, the former Fox News host published a post on the social media platform X in which she disparaged Gaetz.
In order to prevent Gaetz’s nomination, four Senate Republicans would need to vote against him during the appointment procedure.
