Fox News host Jesse Watters reportedly recently speculated that Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor of The Atlantic, may have deceitfully infiltrated a sensitive group chat involving high-ranking officials from the Trump administration.

The discussion in question revolved around military strategies against Houthi rebels in Yemen.

This speculation arose after National Security Adviser Mike Waltz disclosed that Goldberg had accidentally been added to the private Signal chat.

During his appearance on Fox News, Waltz expressed confusion over how Goldberg ended up in the chat, suggesting it could have been a technical mistake or a deliberate act by Goldberg.

“Have you ever had somebody’s contact that shows their name, and then you have somebody else’s number there?” Waltz asked host Laura Ingraham, who responded with sarcasm about making such mistakes.

Watters aired Waltz’s clip and proceeded to voice his thoughts, describing Goldberg as “the lowest of the low.”

He accused Goldberg of using deceptive tactics to mislead politicians, referencing past controversial statements attributed to him, including allegedly distasteful comments about veteran funerals and American soldiers.

Watters claimed that Goldberg’s history of questionable journalism raises doubts about his credibility.

Furthermore, Watters criticized Goldberg for releasing sensitive information just before congressional testimony from half of the group chat members, suggesting that there was an ulterior motive behind the timing of the leak.

The situation has ignited discussions around media ethics and the trustworthiness of journalists, particularly in politically charged environments.

As the controversy unfolds, it highlights the ongoing tensions between media and political figures in the current landscape.
