Kamala Harris Collapsing With Key Voting Group

Democrats have a major problem on their hands. A recent New York Times/Siena College poll shows that Vice President Kamala Harris’s support among Hispanic voters has dropped to levels that are causing serious concern for for her election to the White House.

The decline is particularly worrisome for liberals because the Democratic Party heavily depends on the Hispanic electorate, which is a rapidly growing and influential group, to secure key victories.

The New York Times reports that major warning signs are flashing at Harris headquarters.

The survey of the likely Latino electorate across the country found Ms. Harris underperforming the last three Democratic candidates for the White House, and vulnerable on a slate of top issues, including the economy, immigration and crime.

Mr. Trump, who shocked Democrats four years ago with his appeal to Latinos, particularly men, has only tightened his grip — even as he closes his campaign with a sharply anti-immigrant message.

The poll found that those escalating attacks on immigrants had not driven Latino voters to Ms. Harris. Two-thirds of those surveyed said they believed Mr. Trump was not referring to people like them when he spoke about immigrants. (Half of foreign-born Hispanic voters said the same.)

The findings highlight Latinos’ status as decisive swing voters in presidential politics. The last Democrat to fall below 60 percent with Latino voters was John Kerry, the losing nominee in 2004. Over a decade ago, roughly 70 percent of Latino voters backed President Barack Obama’s re-election. Since then, Mr. Trump has eroded that support.

A new poll has shown Trump has gained momentum as Election Day nears. Newsweek reports that former President Donald Trump has eliminated Vice President Kamala Harris’ 5-point lead, according to a new national poll released on Sunday.

The race between Trump, the Republican nominee, and Harris, the Democratic nominee, has been closely contested for months. While Harris had maintained a narrow advantage in many national polls, the gap has now closed.

The latest national poll from NBC News, released Sunday, shows the candidates in a “dead heat,” with both Trump and Harris tied at 48 percent support among registered voters. This marks a significant shift for Trump, who gained 4 points since NBC’s September poll, while Harris saw a slight 1-point decline.

In September, NBC’s poll had Trump at 44 percent, with Harris leading by 5 points at 49 percent. However, with just over three weeks until Election Day, the race has tightened considerably.
