Rapper Nicki Minaj joined President Trump at a campaign rally Sunday, telling the crowd she would support him if he chose to run again.

“So, President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again,” Minaj said.

The singer appeared alongside Trump in Michigan, where the president was campaigning for former Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. Minaj traveled to the rally with administration officials aboard Air Force One.

White House communications director Steven Cheung even floated the idea of Minaj becoming the next White House press secretary, though it is unclear how serious he was about bringing her on as one of the administration’s top officials.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ,” Cheung wrote Sunday on X.

Cheung’s post included a video of him and Minaj seated aboard Air Force One. In the clip, Minaj described Trump as “a man who’s won three elections.”

That comment references Trump’s false claim that he won the 2020 election over former President Biden. In 2023, the president said that election was “rigged,” adding that there is video evidence of ballot boxes being stuffed.

Minaj went on to praise the president’s work ethic and his commitment to helping fellow Republicans on the campaign trail.

“[Trump] wakes up at 4 o’clock in the morning. He outworks people that you know are half his age, and you know what does that say about his character? He knows that he will be fine,” she said.

“He can kick his feet up and just, you know, chill out for the rest of his presidency. But no, he’s paying it forward,” the singer continued. “He’s thinking about the other Republicans that have to win during these elections, and so that tells me that he’s a great guy.”

Minaj’s enthusiastic backing marks a notable shift from her earlier stance. In 2020, she said she would not “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon.” In recent years, however, she has become a vocal supporter of the president.

Sunday’s rally was not her first high-profile appearance in support of the administration. Minaj previously appeared at a Treasury Department-hosted summit in Washington to launch Trump Accounts for newborn babies. She also appeared at Turning Point USA’s annual conference.

Her appearance in Michigan put one of music’s biggest names front and center at a rally aimed at boosting Republican candidates ahead of the midterms. Minaj used her time on stage to highlight what she described as Trump’s tireless schedule and his willingness to campaign for others in his party.

The moment also drew attention online, thanks to Cheung’s playful suggestion that the rapper could take over the White House briefing room podium.

Whether that suggestion goes anywhere remains to be seen. But Minaj made one thing clear on Sunday: her support for the president is not going away anytime soon.
