In the aftermath of the assassination attempt against Donald Trump, President Joe Biden addressed the nation, calling for national unity.
Politico wrote, “President Joe Biden used a rare Oval Office address on Sunday to condemn political violence and plead with Americans to turn down the temperature in the increasingly toxic political system after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
‘A former president was shot. An American citizen killed while simply exercising his freedom to support the candidate of his choosing,’ Biden said. ‘We cannot, we must not go down this road in America. We’ve traveled it before throughout our history. Violence has never been the answer.’
Speaking from the Resolute Desk, Biden decried that the political rhetoric has gotten ‘very heated’ and urged Americans to ‘cool it down.’ He said disagreements in a democratic system were inevitable, but politics should be an ‘arena for peaceful debate,’ and not a ‘killing field.’”
That sentiment lasted a whopping three days, reported The National Review.
Vice President Kamala Harris said former president Donald Trump’s newly selected running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R., Ohio), will serve as a “rubber stamp” to the Republican presidential nominee’s “extreme agenda” should he return to the White House.
Harris released a 45-second campaign video on her YouTube channel, arguing that Trump prioritized unprincipled loyalty in his search for a running mate. The political attack comes ahead of Vance’s primetime speech at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night, two days after he was announced as Trump’s vice-presidential pick.
“Trump looked for someone he knew would be a rubber stamp for his extreme agenda,” Harris said in the video. “Make no mistake: J.D. Vance will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country.”

The Harris attack video questioning the loyalty of a former Marine to the United States came on the heels of a man armed with an AK-47 trying to infiltrate the Republican National Convention, according to Fox News.
“Homeland Security Investigators and Capitol Police were conducting surveillance near the RNC perimeter when they noticed a suspicious man approaching. He was wearing a ski mask and carrying a tactical bag, Fox News’ source confirmed.
Inside the bag, police found the gun and a full magazine. His intentions were unclear.
Milwaukee Police confirmed the incident to Fox News, saying a 21-year-old man was arrested around 1 p.m. on Monday on the 1200 block of N. 11th Street.”
The arrest was made following an increase in “protest” against the Republicans as a mob formed outside the parameter of the convention hall at the beginning of the meeting.
