In the midst of a chaotic race for the White House and a desire by both sides to circumvent the traditions that have been established in the past by the Commission on Presidential Debates, Fox News has proposed a new debate on September 17th for the presidential campaigns of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
This is a sign that TV networks are seeing new opportunities.
Jay Wallace, the president and executive editor of Fox News Media, proposed a debate moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum in letters to the Harris and Trump campaigns.
Baier and MacCallum are two veterans who typically oversee the cable network’s coverage of elections and significant political events. Pennsylvania would be the location of the event.
A debate scheduled for September 10 was to be broadcast by ABC News, which had secured an agreement between the Trump campaign and the organization that was established around President Joe Biden.
In the past few days, Trump has proposed a debate that would be broadcast on Fox News Channel.
