Illegal Immigrant Arrested In Red State for Attack on Pre-Teen Girl

An individual from Guatemala who was in the country without legal permission was apprehended by Utah law enforcement on Monday for reportedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl

Jonathan Estuardo Ruano Garcia, aged 26, is currently detained in the Utah County jail with a detainer placed on him by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to police reports, a mother arrived back at her apartment at 11:15 p.m. on Sunday to find her daughter alone at home.

Authorities utilized the girl’s social media history to pinpoint Ruano Garcia and promptly found him at his residence.

Ruano Garcia faced charges for three serious offenses: child rape, luring a minor, and forgery.

The arrest was initially reported by local news station KSL.

The Utah County prosecutor’s office stated that his initial court appearance is scheduled for Friday, with court documents still pending.

This recent incident highlights a pattern of violent offenses committed by undocumented individuals, some of whom had prior run-ins with the law and were subsequently let go by sanctuary cities declining to work with immigration authorities.
