President Donald Trump has now announced an upcoming interview with Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor of The Atlantic, in a post on Truth Social, filled with his characteristic insults.
Trump has long criticized Goldberg for his reporting, which he claims has included numerous fictional stories about him.
He specifically mentioned the “Suckers and Losers” hoax and the SignalGate controversy, where Goldberg reported on discussions involving Trump and his national security team regarding military actions in Yemen.

In his post, Trump stated, “Later today I will be meeting with, of all people, Jeffrey Goldberg,” and suggested that Goldberg’s reporting has been damaging. He referred to Goldberg’s team, including writers Michael Scherer and Ashley Parker, as not being supportive of him, highlighting their history of critical coverage.
Trump expressed curiosity about whether The Atlantic could produce a truthful story about him, framing the interview as a personal challenge.
He sarcastically noted that the article they plan to write will be titled “The Most Consequential President of this Century,” questioning if the publication is capable of fairness. “What can be so bad—I WON!” he declared.
Previously, Trump criticized Goldberg’s reporting during a White House event, calling him a “total sleazebag” and dismissing the magazine as a “failed publication.”
This upcoming interview appears to be part of Trump’s ongoing efforts to engage with media figures he perceives as adversarial while attempting to reshape the narrative around his presidency.
As Trump prepares for this interaction, it remains to be seen how he will navigate the conversation with a journalist he has openly disparaged.
