According to President Trump and one of his closest supporters, Elon Musk, the mainstream media is now reportedly attempting to sabotage the president’s objectives and sow discord between them.

“That’s true,” Trump said when Fox host Sean Hannity pointed out that the mainstream media had “threw everything they had at you.”

“They want a divorce, They want you to start hating each other.” Hannity concluded.

“Oh, I see it all the time. They tried it, then they stopped. That was — they have many different things, hatred,” Trump said in agreement.

The president claimed that Musk had called him after reading about his attempts to restructure the federal government in the media.

In regards to the media’s attempt to drive them apart, the President scoffed at the suggestion, saying:

“He said, ‘You know, they’re trying to drive us apart.’ I said, ‘Absolutely.’ You know, they said, ‘We have breaking news: Donald Trump has ceded control of the presidency to Elon Musk.’ And I say, it’s just so obvious. They’re so bad at it. I used to think they were good at it. They’re actually bad at it, because if they were good at it, I’d never be president because I think nobody in history has ever gotten more bad publicity than me.” Trump remarked.

In response to coverage of Trump’s first weeks in office and Musk’s position as director of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Trump and Musk have intensified their attacks on major newspapers and TV networks in recent weeks.

Trump has frequently recommended that other broadcasters lose their licenses for their far-left coverage, and Musk this week called for journalists at CBS News to be imprisoned for the way the network handled a “60 Minutes” interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.
