In a document, the presidential campaign of Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley criticized the presidential campaign of former President Donald Trump for being obsessed with drama and old grudges. Haley’s campaign was running against Trump.
The document, which was acquired by Axios, provided an overview of the first three months of the Haley campaign while slamming both President Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
“Donald Trump had a pretty good Q1, if you count being indicted as ‘good.’ The sensationalized partisan prosecution in Manhattan understandably made Republicans more sympathetic to the former president. It is an outrageous prosecutorial abuse. Still, it’s increasingly clear that Trump’s candidacy is more consumed by the grievances of the past and the promise of more drama in the future, rather than a forward-looking vision for the American people,” the document read.
The difference between Haley’s location at the southern border and Trump’s location in a courthouse in Manhattan was also highlighted in the document.
The campaign for Haley has also taken shots at DeSantis, stating that before he declared his candidacy for the White House, DeSantis has made one error after another.
“Ron DeSantis essentially launched his presidential campaign with a national book tour during this period and made one misstep after another, confirming what many observers have long suspected: He’s not ready for prime time. Among other things, he declared Russia’s brutal, unprovoked, and illegal invasion of Ukraine a mere ‘territorial dispute,'” the memo read.
In addition, the memorandum provided specifics of the campaigning that Haley had been conducting in the states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, as well as the fundraising total of $11 million for the first quarter.
At this point, Haley is running a distant third in the Republican primary field, well behind the two front-runners.
