Feinstein has been serving as a U.S. Senator from California since 1992.
Prior to that, she served as the 38th Mayor of San Francisco from 1978 to 1988.
Feinstein has focused on many issues during her career including gun control, women’s rights, and environmental protection.
Feinstein’s political career started in 1969 when she was appointed to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
In 1978, Feinstein was elected the 38th Mayor of San Francisco.
In 1992, Feinstein was elected to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first woman from California to hold this position. Throughout her time in the Senate, she continued to polish her liberal bonafides, pushing for more restrictive gun control as well as staking out a number of extreme pro-abortion positions.
She has also been a vocal opponent of drilling and supported the talking points of far-left environmental groups.
It is currently unclear who will be most likely to succeed Feinstein in 2024.
