The internal tensions spilling into public view within the conservative movement intensified Wednesday when “The Charlie Kirk Show” producer Blake Neff sharply criticized podcaster Candace Owens for her escalating allegations surrounding the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Owens has repeatedly claimed that Kirk was “betrayed” by high-ranking individuals inside TPUSA—a charge Neff said is not only false but deeply damaging to people closest to Kirk.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson on Sept. 12, accusing him of fatally shooting Kirk at a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University. But Owens has spent months pushing expansive theories involving foreign militaries, internal TPUSA leadership, and what she describes as proof of betrayal. On Tuesday, she promised on X to “name names and provide evidence.”

Neff opened Wednesday’s program by acknowledging that the controversy has dominated social media for months, even as the show largely avoided engaging with it. “Ever since Charlie’s murder, Candace Owens has leveled a flood of allegations against people at Turning Point USA, people at Turning Point Action and people who work for this show,” Neff said, noting that Owens has targeted some of Kirk’s closest friends and most loyal employees.

After listing allegations—including claims of financial misconduct—Neff forcefully rejected them. “Candace has effectively tarred everyone here with complicity in Charlie’s death by repeatedly saying he was ‘betrayed by everyone,’” he said. Owens has even claimed Kirk’s murder “had to be approved by Charlie’s friends” and suggested those same friends might harm her for “knowing the truth.”

Neff called the accusations both false and destructive. “She’s made claims of financial impropriety and fraud at Turning Point adding up into the millions of dollars, which, again, is not true,” he said. According to Neff, Kirk insisted on annual third-party audits and personally approved every expense “down to a single United States dollar.”

Neff said Owens’ rhetoric has unleashed harassment even worse than what TPUSA staff received from people who celebrated Kirk’s assassination. “It is evil. I have seen it,” he said, adding that the show has received thousands of emails and calls demanding a response. For months, he said, TPUSA chose silence for several reasons: the absurdity of the claims, Kirk’s belief in ignoring “trolls,” and their hope that Owens would eventually stop attacking people he considered friends.

But Neff said TPUSA can no longer remain silent. With nearly three months passing since Kirk’s death and Owens showing “no change” in conduct, he announced that TPUSA will host a livestream addressing each allegation directly—and invited Owens to participate.

Owens responded on her podcast Wednesday, insisting she is acting out of loyalty, not hostility. “I’m not a troll,” she said. “I’m actually the exact opposite of that… people believe in me because they feel I’m the only one that’s acting right in the situation.” She argued that anyone who cares about Kirk would want “every stone unturned.”

TPUSA has not yet responded to requests for comment or announced when the livestream will take place.
