During a recent episode of the podcast American Fever Dream, Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) reportedly made bold and unfounded claims about political violence, claiming that Republicans are somehow “inherently” violent.
She pushed back against the narrative that Democrats or liberals are more prone to political violence, claiming that domestic terrorism is predominantly a right-wing issue without presenting any evidence for her wild claim.
Crockett argued that the Republican Party is associated with various extremist groups, including white supremacists and neo-Nazis, labeling them as “domestic terrorists.”
She stated, “You got the Proud Boys, you got the neo-Nazis,” and highlighted that these groups often engage in violent acts. According to Crockett, the right attracts individuals who resort to violence, which she believes is a fundamental characteristic of their ideology.
She dismissed any notion that the violence seen during the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 was comparable, stating that the violence associated with those protests is often exaggerated.
Crockett maintained that the majority of violence linked to the right is targeted at marginalized groups, saying, “Most of your violence has to do with people that’s got a little bit of melanin.”
Crockett’s comments reflect a growing radical left-wing discourse around the nature of political violence in the U.S., particularly in the context of rising extremism.
Her remarks seek to exaggerate the perceived threats posed by right-wing groups while downplaying incidents of violence from the left.
Crockett’s assertions emphasize her strange belief that the Republican Party’s is somehow aligned with violent extremism and poses a significant threat to liberals.
