Some Democrats have become emotionally unsable in the light of Donald Trump’s big victory on Election Day. In a striking display of collective weirdness, a group of Wisconsin women convened at Klode Park in Whitefish Bay on November 9 to unleash a “primal scream” toward Lake Michigan, apparently expressing their post-election anguish.
The video captures about two dozen women standing along the shoreline, their unified screams rising to a powerful, and creepy, crescendo.

“What a beautiful morning to come together at Klode Park in Whitefish Bay and engage in a Primal Scream to release our pain and frustration after the election,” Gibbs wrote in her Facebook post. She noted that Trump supporters were visibly celebrating on a nearby hill, adding an ironic layer to the gathering.
Although Gibbs thanked the Milwaukee Police Department for keeping the peace, the department later clarified that Whitefish Bay falls outside their jurisdiction. The event was peaceful, with participants later forming a circle to reflect and discuss plans for future political action.
“We need to start organizing,” one woman urged the group, according to Fox News, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing to reclaim the state legislature in upcoming elections. Her rallying cry was met with enthusiastic applause, signaling the group’s determination to channel their frustration into action.
The primal scream evoked memories of similar acts of protest in recent years, including demonstrations following Trump’s 2016 election win. At that time, activists from the group Refuse Fascism organized nationwide events where participants screamed at the sky in a symbolic expression of collective frustration, rage, and solidarity.
Reactions to the recent Wisconsin scream on social media have been mixed, ranging from support to ridicule, but everyone can likely agree that oddly screaming at a Great Lake is better than attacking the homes of Trump cabinet nominees.
