In front of an enthusiastic rally crowd, Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly taunted former President Donald Trump for declining to engage in a debate, referring to it as a “weak move.”
On September 10, the ABC News debate marked the inaugural meeting between Trump and VP Harris.
The event was widely perceived as a resounding success for Harris and a “disaster” for Trump, with the exception of Trump.
Trump has struggled to commit to a second debate with Harris since that time, ultimately opting not to have one.
He has declined Fox News’s most recent proposal to host an event with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.
On Thursday evening, Vice President Harris addressed a boisterous audience in Phoenix, while former President Barack Obama was the featured speaker at a rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Harris ridiculed Trump for declining to engage in a debate in front of a jeering audience at that rally.
“And y’all might have seen y’all might have seen that just last night, Donald Trump officially ruled out any more debates.” Harris said.
“Now, I think it’s a disservice to the voters. I also think it’s a pretty weak move!” she continued.
“But even if he will not debate, the contrast in this election is already clear. This election is about two very different visions, two very different visions for our nation. One is focused on the past. The other ours focused on the future. Including being focused on the issues that matter most to working families across America.” Harris concluded.
