Former President Trump spent the hours leading up to Thursday’s debate in Atlanta raging at his opponent and moaning about Fox News.

In a trio of posts on his Truth Social platform, Trump slammed the president as a “threat to democracy” and the country, and complained that Fox had a prominent Biden campaign spokeswoman on its airwaves prior of the CNN-hosted debate.

“JOE BIDEN IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY, AND A THREAT TO THE SURVIVAL AND EXISTENCE OF OUR COUNTRY ITSELF!!!” Trump wrote in one post.

“WHY DOES FOXNEWS PUT ON SO MANY BIDEN PEOPLE, LIKE MICHAEL TYLER,
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR FOR BIDEN, WHO SPEWED LIES WITH VERY LITTLE PUSHBACK? AMAZING!!!” he wrote in a further post.

The probable Republican nominee and his team have repeatedly attacked Biden as a threat to democracy, attempting to refute a core claim from the Biden campaign.

The incumbent and his staff have attempted to cite Trump’s unwillingness to accept the 2020 election results, his alleged involvement in the  Capitol riot of  Jan. 6, 2021, and his vows to prosecute opponents as evidence that the former president poses a threat to basic American institutions.

The post foreshadows what is sure to be a significant point of emphasis for Trump in the first presidential debate of the cycle, as he looks to spotlight Biden’s management of the southern border and crimes alleged to have been perpetrated by migrants who crossed illegally.
