On Friday, legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin made a prediction that the ban imposed by the Colorado Republican primary ballot on former President Trump would soon be unanimously overturned by the Supreme Court.

Toobin’s remarks follow the court’s evident reluctance to proceed with the prohibition of Trump’s ballot appearance during oral argument on Thursday.

“I don’t usually like to predict the outcome of Supreme Court cases based on oral argument. I’m gonna make an exception and say this was a slam dunk victory in the offing for the Trump campaign.” Toobin said during an appearance on “CNN This Morning.”

A number of justices comprising the preeminent court of the United States appeared to be receptive to the former president’s contention that disqualifying federal candidates is beyond the jurisdiction of the states.

Additionally, some of them questioned whether the 14th Amendment’s Insurrection Clause applies to the presidency.

“I have rarely seen a contested case where the political breakdown did not — was not reflected in the oral argument. This was close to unanimous.” Toobin concluded.
