On Wednesday, former President Trump implied that he is aware of the candidates vying for his support as his vice presidential nominee, should he secure the Republican nomination.
During a town hall hosted by Fox News in Iowa, where Trump was present, Martha MacCallum inquired about the potential candidates who would vie to join him on the Republican ticket.
“Well I can’t tell you that really. I mean, I know who it’s going to be,” Trump remarked.
Trump replied affirmatively when asked whether he would be open to considering any of his primary opponents.
“I’ve already started to like Christie better,” Trump said.
Since announcing his candidacy in November 2022, Trump has maintained a comfortable lead in national and state-level polling as the preeminent front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.
Nikki Haley, who is currently strongly, though still behind Trump, in both Iowa and New Hampshire is widely considered to in the running to be a potential VP pick.
