Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis reportedly replied to falsehoods spread by former President Donald Trump on social media this week on Wednesday, claiming he spends his time fighting for his residents, not smearing other Republicans.
DeSantis’ comments came after Trump propagated unfounded allegations that DeSantis was using alcohol to woo teenage females.
The former President promoted the claims with zero evidence to back them up.
“I face defamatory stuff every single day I’ve been governor, that’s just the nature of it. I’d also just say this. I spend my time delivering results for the people of Florida and fighting against Joe Biden. That’s how I spend my time. I don’t spend my time trying to smear other Republicans.” DeSantis said to the sound of applause.

Trump promoted a tweet that displayed a blurry image of someone claiming to be DeSantis standing close to numerous ladies of around the same age at a party.
According to the New York Times, the photo was provided by a blog owned by a Democrat super PAC, and two former female classmates confirmed DeSantis attended parties, but only after they had already graduated.
