The White House is now reportedly promoting a new network of “Freedom Fuel” gas stations that it says is giving Americans access to lower-priced gasoline, as President Donald Trump continues emphasizing efforts to reduce fuel costs during the busy summer travel season.

In a post Tuesday on the social platform X, the White House announced the launch of the first Freedom Fuel Network location in Philadelphia.

“The FIRST Freedom Fuel Network gas station has LANDED in Philadelphia, lowering the price at the pump to $3.47 for our 47th President,” the White House wrote.

The administration added that “President Trump is leading the charge to lower gas prices this summer – putting more money in your pocket.”

According to the Freedom Fuel Network’s website, the company has opened a total of 25 locations, including 20 in Pennsylvania and five in neighboring New Jersey.

A White House official told The Hill that Freedom Fuel Network is a privately owned company and did not receive subsidies from the Trump administration.

The fuel prices being advertised at the new stations undercut current statewide averages. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline stood at approximately $3.98 in Pennsylvania and about $3.86 in New Jersey as of Wednesday. Nationally, AAA reported the average price of regular gasoline was $3.79 per gallon.

The Hill reported that it has reached out to both the White House and the Department of Energy seeking additional information about the rollout of the Freedom Fuel stations.

To promote the initiative, the White House also released a video featuring customers reacting to the lower gas prices.

Several motorists praised the stations for helping them save money.

One customer said he was “very happy” to find less expensive gasoline, while another described herself as “super pumped” about the new option.

Another driver said he initially doubted the stations were real.

“When I saw it I thought it was fake news, but I’m glad it’s true. I definitely couldn’t believe my eyes when I just rolled past,” he said.

The same customer added that filling up at a Freedom Fuel station saved him “a lot of money” during a trip to the Jersey Shore.

The rollout comes amid continued volatility in global energy markets following renewed tensions involving Iran.

Gas prices climbed during the early months of the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran after Iranian military actions brought shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to a near standstill. The waterway is one of the world’s most important energy corridors. According to the International Energy Agency, nearly 34 percent of the world’s crude oil moved through the strait last year, with most exports destined for Asia.

For weeks, Washington and Tehran have been engaged in negotiations aimed at reopening the shipping lane. In mid-June, both countries signed a memorandum of understanding intended to move toward a permanent end to hostilities.

That agreement has since come under intense pressure.

According to U.S. Central Command, American forces struck more than 80 Iranian targets on Tuesday after Iran attacked three commercial vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.

Later, overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched strikes against U.S. military targets located in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The renewed military confrontation prompted President Trump to declare that the memorandum of understanding was effectively finished.

“To me, I think it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them anymore. They’re scum,” Trump told reporters during the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey.

Following the president’s remarks, oil markets reacted sharply. As of Wednesday afternoon, Brent crude oil, the international benchmark, was trading above $78.10 per barrel.
