Turning Point USA, the conservative grassroots organization founded by the late activist Charlie Kirk, has now reportedly announced plans to host an alternative Super Bowl halftime show aimed at offering viewers what it calls an “All-American” alternative to the NFL’s official performance.

“The All-American Halftime Show” is scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, February 8, and will air during the game’s halftime segment. While details remain limited, Turning Point has launched a website promoting the event and promising updates about its performers and broadcast partners in the coming weeks.

The site also features a survey asking participants which musical styles they would most like to hear — including country, hip-hop, rock, or “anything in English” — hinting at a focus on music that appeals to mainstream American audiences.

Turning Point’s move is the latest in a long line of Super Bowl counterprogramming efforts, from the Animal Planet “Puppy Bowl” to professional wrestling showcases.

Yet it stands out as one of the first explicitly political alternatives to the NFL’s halftime spectacle — a response to what many conservatives view as a growing cultural divide between the league and its traditional fan base.

This year’s official halftime show will feature Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny and is sponsored by Apple Music. The decision has sparked criticism from some on the right who see the choice as emblematic of the NFL’s embrace of progressive cultural messaging over shared national identity.

Bad Bunny, one of the most successful Latin artists in the world, has also drawn controversy for his political views. He has said he will not tour in the United States because he fears his concerts could be “targeted by federal immigration authorities” amid President Trump’s expanded deportation efforts.

The artist openly supported former Vice President Kamala Harris during last year’s presidential campaign. His endorsement came after a comedian at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden joked about Puerto Rico being a “floating island of garbage,” a moment that the singer used to criticize the Republican Party.

For Turning Point USA, the “All-American Halftime Show” appears to be both a tribute to Kirk’s legacy and an attempt to reclaim cultural space from what conservatives describe as entertainment increasingly shaped by political correctness. Kirk, who built Turning Point into a nationwide youth movement advocating for free markets and limited government, frequently spoke about the importance of “fighting for influence not only in politics but in culture.”

The group has not disclosed who will headline its concert, but organizers say it will celebrate “patriotism, faith, and freedom.” The event’s timing — coinciding with one of the most-watched television broadcasts in America — underscores the group’s ambition to challenge Hollywood and corporate media dominance with content that aligns with conservative values.

Whether the effort succeeds in drawing a sizable audience remains to be seen. But in the polarized atmosphere of American pop culture, Turning Point’s halftime show represents a new front in the broader contest over who gets to define what “American entertainment” means.
