In a pointed rebuke on Wednesday, President Donald Trump reportedly took to Truth Social to express his disdain for Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic socialist candidate who recently won the Democratic primary for New York City mayor.

Trump characterized Mamdani as a “100% Communist Lunatic,” asserting that the Democratic Party has crossed a significant line with this nomination.

“It’s finally happened, the Democrats have crossed the line,” Trump declared in his post. He described Mamdani’s victory as a troubling development for the party and the nation, claiming, “We’ve had Radical Lefties before, but this is getting a little ridiculous.”

Trump’s comments reflect a broader concern among some Democrats and Republicans about the increasing influence of leftist candidates within the party.

Further elaborating on his views, Trump criticized Mamdani’s appearance and demeanor, stating, “He looks TERRIBLE, his voice is grating, he’s not very smart.”

He also mentioned the backing Mamdani has received from prominent figures, including Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, whom he referred to derogatorily as “Cryin’ Chuck.”

In a second post, Trump suggested a strategic shift for the Democratic Party, recommending that they nominate Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas for the presidency in 2028, with Ocasio-Cortez as her vice president.

“After years of being left out in the cold,” Trump wrote, “the Democrats should nominate Low IQ Candidate, Jasmine Crockett, for President.” He concluded by warning that the combination of Mamdani’s mayorship and a potential Crockett-Ocasio-Cortez ticket would leave the country “really SCREWED.”

Mamdani’s primary victory, where he edged out disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo, has raised eyebrows, particularly as Cuomo has hinted at a possible third-party run in the general election.

Mamdani’s campaign has focused on progressive issues, including a commitment to funding transgender healthcare for both adults and children, directly challenging efforts by the Trump administration to limit such procedures for minors.

As the political landscape in New York City shifts, Mamdani’s nomination represents a significant moment for the Democratic Party, showcasing the growing divide between establishment figures and progressive challengers.
