President Donald J. Trump on Thursday reportedly dismissed renewed media attention on the Jeffrey Epstein scandal as nothing more than a desperate political maneuver by Democrats, calling it a “Democrat CON JOB” designed to distract from what he heralds as one of the most effective stretches of leadership in presidential history.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump accused the Left of weaponizing the Epstein case for political purposes.
“The Radical Left Democrats are doing everything in their power to distract and obfuscate from our GREAT six months of service to America, results of which many are saying is the BEST six months in Presidential history,” Trump wrote.
He went further, branding the latest push to revisit the Epstein saga as “another Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax,” a reference to the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion narrative that plagued much of his first term.
“This time, under the guise of what we will call the Jeffrey Epstein SCAM,” he said. “As things are revealed and, I hope will take place quickly, you will see that it is yet another Democrat CON JOB.”
Trump, who has long maintained his innocence and lack of involvement in Epstein’s criminal enterprise, encouraged the release of grand jury materials to bring transparency — and, he suggested, to expose the political motivations behind the renewed scrutiny.
“Hopefully, the Grand Jury Files will put an end to this HOAX,” he wrote. “Everyone should see what is there, but people who are innocent should not be hurt. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The president’s comments come amid a new phase in the Department of Justice’s inquiry into the Epstein case, as Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed he met Thursday with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate who is currently serving a 20-year federal sentence for her role in his sex trafficking operation.
“Today, I met with Ghislaine Maxwell, and I will continue my interview of her tomorrow,” Blanche posted. “The Department of Justice will share additional information about what we learned at the appropriate time.”
Maxwell, through her attorney, reportedly expressed willingness to cooperate fully with the federal investigation. She has agreed to “testify truthfully” and welcomed Trump’s “commitment to uncovering the truth,” her attorney said.
While corporate media and Democrats have suddenly turned their focus to Epstein’s ties with high-profile figures, many conservatives have noted that these same forces were silent for years — even working to block Republican efforts to release Epstein’s flight logs and related documents.
Trump’s push for transparency and accountability — rather than selective outrage and political spectacle — reflects his administration’s broader approach to justice reform and government honesty.
The president’s allies argue that, just like with the Russia hoax and two failed impeachments, the Epstein frenzy is being engineered to damage Trump’s political project as his second term begins to pick up momentum.
But if recent history is any guide, the strategy may once again backfire.
