The Trump administration has now reportedly confirmed the deportation of TikTok influencer Leonel Moreno, known online as “The Migrant Influencer.”

Moreno gained notoriety last year for a video in which he advised undocumented migrants on how to exploit U.S. squatting laws to secure housing.

His advice included suggestions to occupy empty homes and refuse to leave, suggesting that such tactics could help them avoid eviction.

The announcement of his deportation was made via a post from one of the Trump White House’s social media accounts, which also included a waving emoji to signify the action taken.

This update comes after Moreno was arrested in late March 2025 in Ohio by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He was reported to have illegally entered the U.S. on April 23, 2022.

Moreno had been placed in ICE’s Alternative to Detention program following his arrest, which utilized technology and case management to monitor his compliance with release conditions.

However, he failed to report to the designated Enforcement and Removal Operations office within the required timeframe, prompting his deportation.

In addition to his controversial squatting advice, Moreno also faced backlash for making inflammatory comments about Hispanic workers, expressing disdain for hard labor in a viral TikTok video.

His comments and behavior, coupled with his legal troubles, have sparked significant public interest and debate.

The deportation highlights ongoing immigration enforcement measures under the Trump administration, particularly concerning individuals who promote illegal activities or express controversial views online.

As the situation evolves, it underscores the complexities of immigration policy in the context of social media influence.
