White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles forcefully pushed back Friday against a report claiming she intends to leave President Donald Trump’s administration, dismissing the story as nothing more than “fiction” and reaffirming her commitment to the president and his agenda.
The dispute began after the Daily Mail published an exclusive report citing five unnamed insiders who claimed Wiles was considering stepping away from her role. According to the report, Wiles had become “drained” by the current state of the administration and was reportedly frustrated by Trump’s decision to appoint Federal Housing Finance Agency head Bill Pulte as acting Director of National Intelligence.
The report alleged that Wiles viewed the move as an insult, fueling speculation about her future in the administration. But within hours of the article’s publication, Wiles publicly rejected the claims and left little room for doubt about her intentions.
Posting on X, Wiles directly addressed the report and accused the media of once again attempting to manufacture internal conflict around President Trump and his team.
“After an accomplishment filled week by President Trump, I have the pleasure of reading a piece of Friday fiction, courtesy of the Daily Mail,” Wiles wrote.
She continued by making her position unmistakably clear.
“To be crystal clear, I am not going anywhere. I am honored and proud to serve President Trump, proud of our team and remain fully committed to advancing his agenda on behalf of the American people.”
Wiles also criticized what she described as a long-running pattern of media speculation surrounding Trump and those who work closely with him.
“Some in the media have spent a decade trying to manufacture drama around President Trump and people who work for him,” she wrote. “They were wrong then, and they are wrong now.”
She concluded the message with a brief and confident signoff: “See you Monday.”
The response represented a direct rebuttal to the Daily Mail’s reporting and signaled that Wiles intends to remain at the center of the administration’s operations despite the rumors.
Wiles has been one of Trump’s closest political advisers for years, working alongside him since 2015 and playing a key role within his political orbit. Her position as chief of staff places her among the most influential figures in the White House and makes any speculation about her future a subject of significant interest in Washington.
The report also surfaced just months after Trump publicly revealed that Wiles had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
In a March post on Truth Social, Trump praised Wiles’s determination and commitment to her work while undergoing treatment.
“Susie Wiles is an incredible Chief of Staff, a great person, and one of the strongest people I know,” Trump wrote at the time.
The president said Wiles had chosen to confront the diagnosis immediately and noted that she had assembled what he described as a “fantastic medical team.” Trump added that her prognosis was excellent and said she planned to spend virtually full time at the White House during treatment.
He also described her as one of his closest and most important advisers and praised her willingness to continue serving despite the personal challenge she faced.
“Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her,” Trump wrote.
Trump concluded by saying that he and First Lady Melania Trump stood with Wiles and looked forward to continuing their work together on behalf of the country.
For now, Wiles’s own words appear to settle the matter. Despite reports suggesting otherwise, she says she remains firmly in place and fully committed to serving in the Trump administration.
