In a statement sent through a spokeswoman, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Democrat of California) has now reportedly stated that she will not be present for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
In 2017, Pelosi was present at Trump’s inauguration; nevertheless, she did not provide an explanation for her absence from the event where the new president was sworn in.
On a noteworthy note, the Democrat suffered a hip fracture in December and shortly thereafter underwent hip replacement surgery.
Nevertheless, Pelosi, who was accompanied by a walker, went to a memorial service for the late former President Jimmy Carter earlier this month.
She also went to a joint session of Congress on January 6 to certify Trump’s victory.
In total, Pelosi has been present at eleven different presidential inaugurations.
Trump and Pelosi have been exchanging insults with one another for a number of years. As an illustration, Pelosi used the phrase “scared puppy” to describe Trump’s appearance when he entered a courtroom in the year 2023.
A significant number of legal scholars and supporters of Trump consider the lawsuits and prosecution of the president-elect to be nothing more than lawfare with the intention of causing him political harm.
Michelle Obama, who served as the first lady of the United States, has also stated that she will not be attending the inauguration, in addition to Nancy Pelosi. No explanation was provided, just like Pelosi.
“She’s a crooked person. She’s a bad person, evil. She’s an evil, sick, crazy. Oh no. It starts with a B– but I won’t say it. I want to say it. I want to say it,” Trump once said of Pelosi during one of his final campaign rallies.
