The Pentagon on Friday released a third collection of government documents related to unidentified anomalous phenomena, offering the public a new look at reports, images, videos, and audio recordings involving mysterious objects observed in the sky over several decades.
The latest release continues an effort that began last month to make more information available about what the government now refers to as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, or UAPs. The newly published material includes 53 documents, 10 images, six videos, and multiple audio recordings gathered from agencies including NASA, the CIA, the FBI, and the Pentagon.
According to the release, the records span more than seven decades, with some of the information dating back to 1949. While several files contain witness accounts and investigative summaries, some of the images are artist or digital renderings created from descriptions provided by those who reported sightings.
Among the most intriguing entries is a report connected to a 2023 sighting near what officials described as a sensitive national security location. Witnesses reported unusual activity involving multiple glowing objects that appeared to behave in ways investigators considered noteworthy.
According to a Pentagon summary, observers described seeing what they called a luminous orange “mother orb” that appeared briefly before releasing smaller red objects.
“Reporters described the orange ‘mother orbs’ as appearing for one or two seconds, releasing a cluster of two to four red ‘orbs,’ and subsequently disappearing,” the report states.
Witnesses further described the smaller red objects as displaying unusual movement patterns. According to the summary, the reported behavior included coordinated horizontal motion and apparent changes in altitude that observers considered difficult to explain.
While the report does not draw conclusions about the nature of the objects, investigators determined the account was significant enough to justify additional examination.
“The account warranted continued investigation,” the report concluded.
Another file included in the release concerns an orb reportedly observed near Colorado Springs in 2022. The material contains an artist rendering based on witness descriptions. The Pentagon categorized that case as “unresolved,” indicating investigators were unable to determine a definitive explanation.
The collection also includes a report from 2025 involving a sighting in the northeastern United States. According to an FBI account, a witness described seeing yellow objects roughly the size of basketballs. The witness reported that the objects eventually merged together before disappearing from view.
An additional report dates back to 2008 and concerns a sighting at what was then known as Harare International Airport in Zimbabwe. Details from that case were included among the broader archive released Friday.
The Pentagon’s effort to publish UAP records has attracted enormous public interest. The first batch of files became available on May 8, and the website hosting the material has reportedly received well over one billion visits since the releases began.
The growing attention reflects long-standing public curiosity surrounding unexplained aerial sightings and questions about what government agencies have collected over the years.
President Donald Trump previously voiced support for making additional records available to the public.
“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs),” Trump said regarding the disclosure effort.
As additional files continue to emerge, the latest release offers another glimpse into decades of unexplained reports—many of which remain unresolved despite investigations by some of the nation’s most powerful agencies. For now, the newly disclosed records appear likely to fuel even more public fascination with mysteries that have lingered for generations.
