Elon Musk is reportedly planning to contribute $100 million to support entities linked to former President Donald Trump’s political operation, according to a recent New York Times report by Maggie Haberman and Theodore Schleifer.

This announcement came shortly after Musk and Trump were seen together outside the White House, where Trump promoted Tesla vehicles while announcing his purchase of at least two of them.

The Times noted that it is unprecedented for a White House staffer, even one with a part-time role, to make such significant political donations to support the agenda of a sitting president.

Musk, known as the world’s wealthiest person, is actively involved in Trump’s efforts to reduce the size of the federal government through the Department of Government Efficiency.

The funds are expected to benefit groups such as Make America Great Again Inc., a super PAC, and Securing American Greatness, a political nonprofit.

However, it remains unclear whether the money will be directed to these existing organizations or a new entity that Trump’s team might establish. B

oth MAGA Inc. and Securing American Greatness were founded by Trump allies and feature a range of significant donors.

In addition to this potential donation, Musk continues to support his own super PAC, which has already invested $6 million in backing a conservative candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

During the last election cycle, Musk spent nearly $300 million, primarily through a PAC he founded.

Haberman further explained on CNN that this funding solidifies Musk’s position with Trump, especially as his own PAC recently aired a $1 million ad thanking the former president.

The collaboration between Musk and Trump reflects the intertwining of business interests and political ambitions as the 2024 election approaches.
