LindellTV host Emerald Robinson voiced concerns this week over reports that President Donald Trump is considering issuing 250 pardons as part of the nation’s 250th birthday celebration, saying her support for the idea depends entirely on who ultimately receives clemency.

During her program, Robinson referenced reporting from The Wall Street Journal and The Atlantic, telling viewers that both outlets had reported Trump was weighing a sweeping pardon initiative tied to the country’s historic milestone.

“The Wall Street Journal and The Atlantic are both reporting that as part of the big 250 celebration this week, President Trump is considering 250 pardons,” Robinson said before reading a portion of The Atlantic’s reporting.

According to the report Robinson cited, the “250 for 250” pardon effort has received support from Alice Johnson, who became the nation’s first “pardon czar” in February, as well as Edward R. Martin Jr. and others close to the president. Martin previously served as the interim U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C.

The report stated that supporters of the initiative hope to connect the Fourth of July theme of freedom with correcting what some view as overly harsh criminal sentences or what they describe as the weaponization of the justice system under Trump’s Democratic predecessors.

Robinson then played video of Jan. 6 defense attorney Jonathan Gross urging Trump to move forward with the pardons.

Gross argued that if the president approved the effort, “your second term will be known forever as the ‘great emancipation,’ and you, along with Moses will be known as ‘the great emancipator.’” He added that such action would save “the lives of tens of thousands of people,” saying those individuals, along with their families and communities, would remember Trump’s actions.

Robinson initially expressed enthusiasm for the concept of granting pardons to Americans she believed had experienced government overreach.

“It would be great,” she said, “if the president is truly pardoning good Americans who were faced with true government overreach and weaponization.”

However, her tone changed after discussing several names reportedly being considered.

Robinson specifically pointed to Nicole Daedone, identifying her as a co-founder of the OneTaste orgasmic meditation business who was sentenced to nine years in prison for her role in a forced labor conspiracy.

She also referenced reporting that Malaysian fugitive Jho Low was among those allegedly under consideration. Robinson noted that Low is wanted for allegedly diverting billions of dollars in an international financial fraud scheme.

According to Robinson, The Atlantic also reported that discussions had involved wealthy and well-connected individuals from India, Greece, Turkey, and France who had been told their cases were being considered.

“Suffice to say, the devil is in the details!” Robinson remarked.

Returning to Gross’s earlier comments, Robinson said she had initially been excited when she first saw reports about the pardon proposal because it appeared consistent with the vision he had outlined.

“I was excited when I saw the headline and the initial blurb,” Robinson said, adding that she liked Gross’s description of the effort as “the great emancipation.”

But after reviewing the reported names, Robinson made clear she was no longer convinced.

“I mean, if it’s the list that The Atlantic is providing, I’m not perhaps behind that!” Robinson said, visibly expressing her disapproval of the reported selections.
