In a striking condemnation of President Donald Trump’s latest budget proposal, Elon Musk has now reportedly publicly criticized the legislation as a “disgusting abomination.”

The outspoken entrepreneur and former White House adviser took to social media to express his discontent with what he perceives as excessive government spending, marking a significant escalation in his rhetoric against the budget plan.

In a post to X, Musk stated, “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

This outburst follows earlier, more measured critiques from Musk, who had previously voiced disappointment regarding the budget’s impact on the national deficit.

Musk’s remarks come in the wake of the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis, which projected that Trump’s budget could add approximately $3.8 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade due to tax changes, notably the extension of provisions from the 2017 tax act.

This financial outlook has stirred concern among some Republican lawmakers, including Senators Rand Paul (KY) and Ron Johnson (WI), who have argued that the spending plan could exacerbate the national debt.

In a recent interview, Musk expressed his disappointment with the budget, stating, “I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful. But I don’t know if it can be both.”

His comments reflect a growing apprehension among conservatives about the implications of increased federal spending, particularly in a climate where fiscal responsibility is often emphasized.

The criticism from Musk underscores a broader tension within the Republican Party, as various factions grapple with the direction of fiscal policy.

While some party members continue to support Trump’s approach, others are increasingly wary of the potential consequences of such expansive spending measures.

Musk’s vocal opposition to the budget legislation also highlights the intersection of business interests and political discourse. As a prominent figure in technology and innovation, Musk’s perspective carries weight, particularly among those who prioritize economic prudence and efficiency.

As the debate over the budget continues, the divide within the party may deepen, with Musk’s criticisms likely resonating with a segment of the Republican base that remains committed to fiscal conservatism.

With Musk’s influential voice now firmly in opposition to Trump’s fiscal vision, the conversation surrounding government spending and its impact on the economy is poised to evolve, reflecting the challenges and dynamics within contemporary American politics.
