Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly drew a stark comparison between Antifa and some of the most violent criminal organizations in the country, saying on Fox News’ “Hannity” Tuesday that the far-left group operates like “organized crime” and must be dismantled.
“They’re organized and someone is funding it,” Bondi told host Sean Hannity during a discussion about the government’s recent designation of Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. “We’re going to get to the funding of Antifa, we’re going to get to the root of Antifa, and we are going to find and charge all of those people who are causing this chaos in Portland and all these other cities across our country.”
Bondi, who served as a key member of President Donald Trump’s legal team, said the group’s violent tactics and intimidation campaigns are a direct threat to the nation’s security and civil order. “It’s organized crime,” she said. “They are completely organized. They’re at all of these events, they’re encouraging violence, they’re calling everyone fascist, but it’s more than that. It’s hurting the American people. They’re no different than MS-13 or any gang out there.”
Her remarks come just weeks after President Trump signed an executive order designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. The order followed months of unrest in major U.S. cities and the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University, an act that further intensified calls from the right for accountability and transparency surrounding Antifa’s role in political violence.
In his executive order, President Trump described Antifa as “a militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and our system of law.” The order declared that Antifa “uses illegal means to organize and execute a campaign of violence and terrorism nationwide” with coordinated efforts to “obstruct enforcement of Federal laws through armed standoffs with law enforcement, organized riots, violent assaults on Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other law enforcement officers, and routine doxing of and other threats against political figures and activists.”
According to the Trump administration, Antifa also recruits and radicalizes young Americans to “engage in this violence and suppression of political activity,” concealing its operations through complex networks that hide funding sources and shield operatives from detection. “This organized effort designed to achieve policy objectives by coercion and intimidation is domestic terrorism,” Trump wrote.
Bondi praised the administration’s resolve, saying the Justice Department would continue to pursue those responsible for orchestrating political violence. “Talk to all the influencers who have been threatened and beat up and their lives threatened from Antifa members,” she said. “It’s going to stop under Donald Trump.”
The urgency of the issue was underscored earlier this month when journalist Katie Daviscourt appeared on Fox News with a black eye after being attacked in Portland by what she described as an “Antifa-affiliated protester.” The attack, Bondi said, is emblematic of the group’s growing lawlessness — and of the need for firm federal intervention.
As Bondi put it, the fight against Antifa is about more than politics. “It’s hurting the American people,” she said. “And under President Trump, it’s going to stop.”
