Behar Ramps Up Rhetoric, Says Protests and Voting Aren’t Enough to Stop Trump

The View co-host Joy Behar escalated her rhetoric against President Donald Trump on Tuesday, complaining that it was time to “do something” about him and suggesting that traditional political actions like protesting in the streets or voting were no longer sufficient.

During the discussion, Behar argued that Trump’s presidency had reached a breaking point and insisted that Americans would have to “step up” to remove him, though she offered little clarity on what that would entail beyond increased political pressure. “I think this is the end of it now for President Trump,” Behar said. “It has to be. And Americans need to step up now. It’s not enough to go into the streets. It’s not enough to vote.”

Behar said she believed people should begin aggressively contacting lawmakers, urging viewers to call their members of Congress and U.S. senators. While stopping short of outlining any formal process, she framed the situation as urgent and unprecedented.

She went on to unload a series of accusations against Trump, claiming without qualification that he had eroded civil rights, erased history, damaged the economy for decades to come, and alienated America from its allies in NATO. Behar also suggested that Trump’s actions were driven by personal grievance, claiming his behavior stemmed from frustration over not receiving an award.

“You know, the shrinks call that a narcissistic injury,” Behar said, asserting that Trump’s ego could lead the United States into a global conflict. She claimed that Americans, including those on the show, had a responsibility to speak out and use their platforms to oppose him.

Behar said viewers loved The View precisely because of its outspoken political commentary. She then directly urged the audience to pressure lawmakers, telling them to call their representatives and declare, “It’s time to do something about this guy, because he’s leading us into World War III.”

Her comments were echoed by fellow co-host Sunny Hostin, who claimed Trump’s interest in Greenland was motivated by its rare earth minerals. Hostin also argued that Trump should be taken seriously when he discusses the possibility of taking the territory by force.

As the discussion continued, Behar interrupted to place blame on Congress, claiming she believed Trump was unwell and that lawmakers were responsible for failing to act. The 25th Amendment was briefly mentioned during the exchange, though co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that such a move would require action from the president’s own cabinet, not Congress.

The segment reflected a familiar pattern on the daytime talk show, where sharp rhetoric and dire warnings about Trump have become commonplace. Behar’s remarks, particularly her assertion that voting and protesting are no longer enough, marked a notable escalation in tone as the panel openly debated what they see as extraordinary measures to confront a president they vehemently oppose.
