Donald Trump received an endorsement from an unexpected place earlier in the week.
In a surprising move, a prominent leader in the Black Lives Matter movement endorsed former President Trump for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Mark Fisher, a co-founder of BLM in Rhode Island, accused Democrats of pushing racist policies detrimental to the Black community.
Fox News reported that Mark Fisher, who is the co-founder of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island, joined ‘FOX & Friends’ to discuss why some Black voters are leaving the Democrats as they contemplate who they will vote for in the 2024 presidential election.
“It’s the duplicity of the Democrats, the hypocrisy,” Fisher told Lawrence Jones Tuesday. “We’re not stupid. The brothers are not stupid. We understand when someone’s for us and when someone is not, and it’s obvious that the Democratic Party is not for us.”
“The policies actually strike at the heart of the Black family and the nuclear family,” he continued.
“We’ve been used and abused for so long by that party, they don’t value our vote,” Fisher said. “Their policies are basically racist policies. I believe it’s a racist party. Donald Trump is just the opposite. He’s he’s going to tell you how it is. He’s going to give it to you straight.”

Fisher also claimed that Democrats “don’t value” the Black vote during an interview earlier this month and pointed to Trump’s advocacy of the uplifting the Black community.
Joe Biden has been accused of racism multiple times since entering the White House and was family called out as a racist by Kamala Harris during the 2020 primary campaign.

First Lady Jill Biden has also been accused of racial prejudice. “In July 2022, Jill Biden was accused of racism after she compared Hispanic people to tacos while taking a trip to San Antonio. The Texas Tribune noted that the First Lady was forced to apologize after saying, ““The diversity of this community — as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio — is your strength.”
She was later criticized for saying that the predominantly white basketball team that lost the Women’s NCAA Championship Game, the University of Iowa, should also receive a White House invitation.
Her apology to the champions, LSU, was rejected by the team’s African American star, Angel Reese.

The White House has received criticism for the way it treats Black staffers, as well. So many African American employees have left the White House that it’s been labeled “Blaxit.”
“People have not had the best experiences and a lot of that has to do with the death of black leadership,’ another staffer in the White House said, according to New Conservative Post. “Think about any workplace. Black folks need some person to go to, to strategize and be a mentor, and we just don’t have as many folks who can be mentors to us.”
