U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone shot down by Houthi rebels in Yemen, supported by Iran, on Wednesday
According to the Houthis, the drone entered Yemeni airspace and was intercepted by their air defenses.
According to a U.S. official who spoke to the outlet on condition of anonymity to discuss specifics that were not yet made public, the Pentagon is still reviewing the incident to ascertain whether the American asset was truly in Yemeni airspace.
The MQ-9 was shot down over the Red Sea by Houthis.

They published a video that purportedly showed the incident after making the claim earlier on Wednesday.
The rebel group supported by Iran stated that since the Israel-Hamas conflict began on October 7, they have fired at least four distinct salvos against Israel.
On November 2, the Houthis fired a surface-to-surface missile, which Israel intercepted, according to the Israeli Air Force.
The use of Israel’s Arrow air defense system during a war is unprecedented. Around the same time, two cruise missiles fired from Yemen were also intercepted by IDF fighters, according to the Air Force.
