Democratic Representative Jared Moskowitz of Florida stated on Tuesday that after the House elects a Speaker, Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan might be censured for her remarks on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
“I think once we get a House Speaker here, I think that censure resolution will come to the floor and I do think it’s something everyone should consider,” he said during a recent Fox News appearance.
“This is about U.S. intelligence, this is about U.S. information, this is about not willing to trust the Biden administration and U.S. intelligence but instead continuing to pretend like the Ministry of Health out of Gaza is nothing other than a terrorist organization,” he continued.
In response to Tlaib’s remarks regarding the subsequent bloodshed in the region since Hamas launched its deadly attack on Israel on October 7, some Republican members have proposed a resolution of censure for her.
Tlaib and a few other Democratic lawmakers have come under fire for comments they made regarding the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza.
In a statement released on Monday, Tlaib questioned the circumstances surrounding the hospital explosion last week. Moskowitz was responding to that remark.
In the days following the explosion, Israeli and American intelligence agencies blamed an Islamic Jihad group for the incident.
Tlaib asserted that she is still unable to accept that Israel was not the cause of the explosion in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
