Fox News star Kat Timpf and her younger sister Julia teamed up to raise more than $400,000 for cancer research, one year after the “Gutfeld!” regular was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Julia Timpf ran Sunday’s New York City Marathon on behalf of Fred’s Team, the official marathon team of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Manhattan hospital where Kat was treated.

The fundraiser got a massive boost from Fox News viewers. On Thursday night’s episode of “Gutfeld!”, which fell on Kat’s 38th birthday, she told the audience that instead of gifts, she would love it if fans donated to her sister’s campaign.

“For my birthday all I want, you guys, is to cure cancer,” she said.

Viewers answered the call in a big way. Kat had hoped the mention might bring in another $20,000. Instead, the fundraiser, which stood at about $125,000 before the show, surged past $300,000 less than a day later and reached $400,530 by Sunday afternoon.

Kat thanked her sister in a video, noting that Julia was the one who actually had to run the race. She also said that while she is not glad she had cancer, the money would not have been raised without her diagnosis, giving her something to be grateful for.

Kat’s story has played out publicly. Doctors diagnosed her with ductal carcinoma in situ, an early form of breast cancer, about 15 hours before she went into labor with her son in February 2025. She has said her son may have helped save her life by putting her in the medical setting where the cancer was found. She underwent a double mastectomy the following month, a decision she described as one of the hardest she ever made. She is now cancer-free, and she announced earlier this fall that she is expecting again.

Julia wrote on her fundraising page that cancer has touched her family in more ways than one, noting that both her mother and aunt have also faced breast cancer. She said she is part of MSK’s RISE program, which monitors and supports people with a higher-risk family history and gives her access to screening to be proactive about her own health.

She praised the hospital for the care and compassion it showed her family, saying that because of MSK, her sister is now cancer-free and able to be a mother to her young nephew.

Julia said 100 percent of the donations would go to MSK labs, where doctors and scientists are researching more than 400 types of cancer.

On race day, Kat showed up to cheer her sister on, wearing an orange “Fred’s Team” shirt and holding a sign. She also found time Saturday night to joke that she was enjoying the pre-marathon carbohydrates more than her sister.

The sisters had appeared together on “Fox & Friends” ahead of the race to discuss Kat’s diagnosis and the fundraiser. Julia’s finishing time was not immediately available.
