Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, announced Sunday that they have welcomed their fourth child, a son named Alec Neel Vance.
The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post, saying the baby was born Sunday morning.

“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning,” the couple wrote. “Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”
The Vances also thanked the medical personnel who cared for Usha and the baby during the delivery.
“The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing,” they said. “We are deeply thankful for all they have done for our family.”
The couple announced Usha’s pregnancy in January and said at the time that they expected the baby to arrive in late July.
“Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July,” the Vances wrote in the earlier announcement.
President Trump welcomed the new addition:
JD and Usha Vance met while attending Yale Law School and married in 2014. They have three older children: sons Ewan and Vivek and daughter Mirabel. The Vances had initially only intended to have three children, but the death of Charlie Kirk, and seeing the suffering of his wife Erika, changed Usha’s mind.

The children appeared with their parents at several public events surrounding President Donald Trump’s inauguration last year.
The birth comes as the Vances continue adjusting to life in the White House while raising their growing family.
