Top White House Advisor to Resign

According to a new report, White House cyber czar Chris Inglis will resign as director of the Office of the National Cyber Director in the near future.

Inglis was named as the first national cyber director of the office last year.

He also acts as the president’s top cybersecurity policy and strategy advisor in

Inglis made a commitment to increase diversity and inclusion in the cyber industry and to develop a national plan for the cyber workforce and education during a summit his office sponsored on the topic over the summer.

According to sources speaking to CNN, Kemba Eneas Walden, the main deputy national cyber director, will operate as director while the administration looks for a successor.

Along with other senior employees, Walden, a former counsel at Microsoft, joined the office in May.

When reached by CNN, Inglis did not dispute his plans to leave his position but would not elaborate further. It is anticipated that Inglis would retire after leaving his position.

During his time in office, Inglis has concentrated on a number of  issues, including protecting vital industries from cyberattacks, enhancing public-private partnerships in the cyberspace, and spending money to recruit and retain cyberworkers.

Additionally, he has advocated for greater “diversity” in this industry in accordance with the Biden administration’s liberal political agenda.
