Dan Caldwell, a former senior adviser to U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, recently appeared on The Tucker Carlson Show to defend himself against allegations of leaking classified information.
Caldwell vehemently denied any wrongdoing, claiming he was set up by opponents of Hegseth’s foreign policy within the Pentagon.
During the interview, Tucker Carlson directly asked Caldwell if he had leaked classified material to the media, to which Caldwell responded with a firm “Absolutely not.”
He emphasized that he had never communicated with an NBC reporter and was unaware of the specific accusations against him. Caldwell argued that there is substantial evidence suggesting that a genuine investigation is lacking.
Carlson pointed out that Caldwell had not undergone a polygraph test nor had his electronic devices been confiscated by the Department of Defense, raising questions about the validity of the accusations against him.
Dan Caldwell was one of the strongest voices at the Pentagon opposing war with Iran. Then he was falsely accused of leaking classified documents and fired.

Caldwell suggested that the true leaks originated from those within the Pentagon who opposed President Trump’s administration and sought to escalate tensions with Iran.
Reflecting on his abrupt dismissal from the Pentagon, Caldwell described the experience as surreal and devastating for his family.
He expressed support for Hegseth, emphasizing the need for stability within the Department of Defense and the importance of Hegseth’s success as Secretary.
Caldwell concluded the segment by thanking Carlson for his role in advocating against war with Iran, acknowledging the impact of Carlson’s platform on foreign policy discussions.
He reiterated his commitment to transparency and accountability within the government, asserting his innocence and the need for a thorough investigation into the matter.
