Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich complimented Kevin McCarthy, also a former and likely to be future Speaker, for outlining his plan to remove leftist Democrats from important House committees if he ends up taking power next year.

Gingrich, who was famously Speaker of the House from 1995 to 1999, told Fox News that it was actually current Speaker Nancy Pelosi who was the first to cleanse committees of Democrats thought to be too radical.

McCarthy is now preparing to follow her example in designating Ilhan Omar, D-MN, and California Democrats Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell ineligible for committee duties due to a host of serious allegations against them, according to Gingrich.

Last year, Pelosi and other House Democrats moved to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from the Education and Budget committees due to her previous controversial comments and flirtations with alleged conspiracy theories.

Eleven Republicans voted yes to the proposal, despite the fact that other Republicans said Greene’s questionable public statements occurred before her election.

McCarthy, the current House Minority Leader, is likely to become Speaker following Republicans’ victory in the midterm elections last week.

On Sunday, he informed Fox News that he will remove Schiff, who promoted misinformation about the Trump-Russia connection fake.

He also reportedly intends to remove Swalwell, who supposedly had a romance with a Chinese spy, from the House Intelligence Committee.

“You know I made another promise to you last time. There was this congresswoman, Ilhan Omar. I remember what she said about me.I remember what she said about Israel. I remember what she said about the [U.S.-Israel] relationship. I remembered it so much, I promised you last year she would no longer be on foreign affairs.I’m keeping that promise.” McCarthy said during an appearance at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s 2022 leadership meeting.

Gingrich praised McCarthy’s decision, saying “I think those are three pretty good targets. And I commend Speaker-designate McCarthy for taking them head-on.”
