A far-left female ‘bishop’ implored President Donald Trump to “have mercy” on “transgender children” who “fear for their lives” and undocumented immigrants during her address at the National Prayer Service.
Episcopal Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde’s remarks follow the newly inaugurated president’s signing of numerous executive measures last night, intended to exclude far-left transgender ideology from American institutions and to fortify the southern border.
“In the name of our God, I ask you, to have mercy on the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families who fear for their lives.” Bishop Budde remarked during the National Prayer Service.
“And the people, the people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meat-packing plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals, they, they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation. But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches …” she added.
“I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away, and that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands, to find compassion and welcome here,” she continued.
Budde’s remarks follow the Republican president’s issuance of an executive order asserting the existence of just two genders and condemning attempts to eliminate the biological fact of sex.
The directive requires executive agencies to cease the promotion of gender ideology in their activities and prohibits the allocation of federal funds to grantees for the promotion of gender ideology.
