On Monday, President-elect Trump has now reportedly announced that he will be appointing George Edward Glass to the position of ambassador to Japan.

When the first Trump administration was in office, Glass served as an ambassador to Portugal for a period of time.

During that time period, the Order of Infante D. Henrique recognition was bestowed to him by the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

“I am pleased to announce George Edward Glass as our next United States Ambassador to Japan. In my First Term, George was the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal. As a former President of an Investment Bank, George will bring his business acumen to the Ambassador’s position. George graduated from the University of Oregon, served as Alumni President, and on its Board of Trustees. He will always PUT AMERICA FIRST. Congratulations George!” Trump announced on his Truth Social account.

Additionally, according to a report that was published on the website of the State Department during the administration of Donald Trump, Glass was the former owner of a company that specialized in real estate and the former head of a technology investment bank in Oregon.

“I am humbled by such an award. This honor is recognition of the tremendous accomplishments we have made Side-by-Side. It has been a great privilege to serve my country and to work with the Portuguese government and people.” Glass said in response to the news.
