Donald Trump, the incoming president of the United States, reportedly made fun of Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, on Monday by referring to him as “Governor” of “the Great State of Canada.”

This came after Trump had discussed the prospect of Canada being a part of the United States.

“It was a pleasure to have dinner the other night with Governor Justin Trudeau of the Great State of Canada. I look forward to seeing the Governor again soon so that we may continue our in-depth talks on Tariffs and Trade, the results of which will be truly spectacular for all! DJT.” Trump wrote in a new post on Truth Social.

Following Trudeau’s assertion, which was made during a meal with the president-elect, that his country would be economically devastated by Trump’s proposed tariffs, Trump reportedly made a joke about the idea of Canada becoming the 51st state.

“Your country can’t survive unless it’s ripping off the U.S. to the tune of $100 billion? Maybe Canada should just become the 51st state.” Trump said according to Fox News’ Peter Doocy.

It is also said that Trump assured Trudeau that he could continue to serve as governor of the newly formed state.

After that, Trump did what appeared to be a confirmation of the news by releasing an artificial intelligence-generated photo of himself standing on a snowy peak next to the flag of Canada.

Trudeau issued a warning on Monday that the second administration of Donald Trump will be “a little more challenging” to deal with than the previous administration.

On Monday, Trudeau also suggested that the proposed tariffs by Trump would have a negative impact on the White House.
