There will be an interview between President-elect Trump and Kristen Welker of NBC News on the program “Meet the Press” on Sunday, according to an announcement made by the network on Wednesday.

It would be his first interview with a network since coming out on top versus Vice President Harris in the 2024 election, which took place a month ago.

It was announced by NBC that the interview will be broadcast on their Sunday morning show at 10:30 a.m. the following morning, and that highlights will be made available before the show.

Additionally, the transcript and the whole video interview will be made available online on Sunday.

After Trump has announced his choices for top Cabinet positions, some of which are currently being scrutinized by the Senate, and outlined his plans for Day 1 of his administration, including signing an executive order to impose steep tariffs of 25 percent on all goods coming from Canada and Mexico, as well as even higher tariffs on China, the interview comes after Trump has named his picks for top Cabinet posts.

Donald Trump was interviewed by Welker in September of 2023, and during the course of the conversation, they talked about immigration and what a second term for Trump will look like.

According to NBC, that interview occurred during the 2024 campaign cycle and was the only network sit-down that Trump participated in.

Welker, who had previously worked for NBC as a White House correspondent, has been the host of “Meet the Press” consistently since September 2023, when he succeeded Chuck Todd, who had previously held the position.
