William Shatner, the legendary Star Trek actor and author, was reportedly advised by political pundit, podcast host, and comic Bill Maher that the only thing he should say about President-elect Donald Trump’s victory is “Congratulations.”
“Well, I think first off, first is congratulations! You only won one big. You won big.” Maher said.
Maher also advised that Trump merits “props” for his success.
Shatner was a guest on the most recent episode of Maher’s Club Random Podcast.
The duo engaged in a conversation regarding Trump’s unexpectedly decisive victory in the presidential election.
He also stated that Trump should be credited for his victory and that all the “losers” should “look in the mirror.”
“You know, I feel like it’s for some people it’s very reminiscent of 2016. I certainly was much more apoplectic than perhaps I should be.” Maher concluded.
