Vivek Ramaswamy reportedly predicted this weekend that the federal government will undergo “mass reductions” during the second administration of President-elect Donald Trump.
Ramaswamy, who was appointed by President Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Elon Musk, discussed his intentions to reduce the federal bureaucracy with Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo during an episode of “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“We expect mass reductions. We expect certain agencies to be deleted outright. We expect mass reductions in force in areas of the federal government that are bloated. We expect massive cuts among federal contractors and others who are overbilling the federal government … I think people will be surprised by, I think, how quickly we’re able to move with some of those changes, given the legal backdrop the Supreme Court has given us.” Ramaswamy said.

Ramaswamy contended that the process of reducing portions of the Executive Branch can commence immediately through executive action.
“The dirty little secret right now … is people we elect to run the government, they’re not the ones who actually run the government. It’s the unelected bureaucrats in the administrative state. That was created through executive action. It’s going to be fixed through executive action,” he added.
Ramaswamy also proposed that certain departments be relocated from Washington, D.C., to a location where they can maintain a higher level of accountability to the public.
However, he emphasized that the primary objective would be to reduce the amount of staff.
He also acknowledged that Trump has discussed eliminating the Department of Education, despite the fact that he did not explicitly specify any specific agencies that would be closed.
