On Wednesday, President Joe Biden reportedly declared that he would not endorse a retaliatory Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
On Tuesday, Iran launched approximately 200 ballistic missiles at the Jewish state, inflicting damage on key military sites.
The United States, Israel, and other nations collaborated to intercept numerous missiles prior to their impact.
Israel has pledged to respond to the Iranian assault, however. On Wednesday, Biden attempted to caution Israel against attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“The answer is no.” Biden said in response to a question on the matter.
“Israel has a right to respond. It should be a proportional response.” he continued.
In response to a series of assassinations that Israel has conducted in recent months against senior officials in Iran and its terror network, including Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed by an Israeli airstrike late last week, Iran launched an attack on Israel.
Following the missile assault, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement in which he declared that the Iranian regime would be held accountable.
There was no indication from Netanyahu regarding Israel’s decision to respond.
Numerous prospective targets have been proposed as potential targets for an Israeli retaliatory strike. The oil and natural gas fields of Iran are the bedrock of its economy and fortune.
It is probable that the oil and gas infrastructure would be a simpler target than Iran’s nuclear facilities, which are heavily fortified.
For an extended period, Israel has perceived Iran’s nuclear program and Tehran’s advancements toward the development of a nuclear weapon as a significant menace to its national security, with many observers now believing now may be the time they finally move to take it out.
