A Democratic campaign office in Tempe, Arizona, was struck by gunfire, according to local police. Authorities discovered the damage on Monday.

Pictures from the scene reveal multiple bullet holes in the building, with shots visible on the door and windows. Police are investigating the incident, but no injuries have been reported so far.

The incident occurred just a few days before the vice president is scheduled to visit the Grand Canyon State over the next few days, writes NBC News.

“We can confirm that on 9/23/24, what appears to be damage from gunfire at … a DNC Campaign Office, was discovered,” Tempe police said in a statement to NBC News on Tuesday.

Tempe police said that officers responded Monday after calls from workers, and that they observed what appeared to be gunshots through the front windows of the office which is shared by staff members for the Arizona Democratic Party, the Harris campaign and Senate and House campaigns to boost turnout for the party in November.

“No one was inside the office during the overnight hours, but this raises concerns about the safety of those who work in that building, as well as those nearby,” Public Information Officer, Sgt. Ryan Cook said in a statement Tuesday.

The apparent gunfire marks the second incident of criminal damage at that office in recent weeks, according to Tempe police, who said that just after midnight on Sept. 16 the office’s front windows were hit with what appeared to be a BB gun or pellet gun.

The shooting comes shortly after Donald Trump faced a second assassination attempt from a recruiter who supported the Ukrainian Foreign Legion.

Harris is slated to finally go to the border as the nominee on Friday, according to The New York Times.

“The trip is set to be her first visit to the southern border since President Biden dropped out of the race.

Ms. Harris may give remarks about border issues during the visit, according to the people, who insisted on anonymity to discuss a trip that has not yet been made public. The people said final details about exactly where Ms. Harris would visit or what else she might do on the trip have not been decided. The Harris campaign did not immediately provide a comment.”

The Democratic nominee has struggled to explain to the public why they should trust her on the issue of immigration after being called Biden’s “border czar” during the early months of the current administration’s tenure.
