On Thursday, the former president Trump reportedly denounced as “pure disinformation” any attempt to connect him to Project 2025.
“I know nothing about Project 2025. I have not seen it, have no idea who is in charge of it, and, unlike our very well received Republican Platform, had nothing to do with it,” Trump wrote in a recent post on Truth Social.
“The Radical Left Democrats are having a field day, however, trying to hook me into whatever policies are stated or said. It is pure disinformation on their part. By now, after all of these years, everyone knows where I stand on EVERYTHING! DJT[.]” Trump continued.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think group, has produced Project 2025, a 900-page “governing agenda” outlining conservative goals in the event that a Republican wins the presidency in this year’s election.
Even though Trump has made an effort to distance himself from Project 2025, Ben Carson and Ken Cuccinelli, two former Trump administration officials, are involved with the initiative.
Paul Dans, a former official in the Trump administration, is also in charge of Project 2025.
AcProject 2025 involved at least 140 former Trump administration employees according to reports.
In reaction to Trump’s statement from last week, a representative for Project 2025 reiterated on social media platform X that the organization does not speak for politicians or campaigns.
